Well presented. However, it is reasonable to assume the Breuer case file was deliberately distorted to some degree to avoid clashing with the parent and brother. This is especially likely if Breuer had suspicions of what might have gone on. However, as to music, it is likely that a wealthy family in Austria at that time would have had a piano in the house, one which would have been played frequently. It is also likely that he had seen her at Hanukkah as part of his comings and goings in the Jewish community. It was certainly not unusual for physicians to have contact with the families they treated.

Thanks for your thoughts, Ken. You're right that they would have had a piano, but it's unlikely that it would have been played much at the time in question as Bertha's father was dying, Bertha was bedridden, and the mood in the house would have been sombre. And it was specifically 'powerfully rhythmical' music that she supposedly reacted to, the kind of music associated with dancing, which wouldn't have been in keeping with the atmosphere.
